Privacy

 

All information obtained through consultation with us is treated with the same confidentiality and privilege as information obtained through traditional face to face consultations.

Information will only be released in the following circumstances:

  • With your consent, for professional purposes only, to other health professionals legitimately concerned with your case.

  • With your consent, for research or teaching purposes.

  • Where failure to disclose such information may result in a clear risk to the safety of others.

  • Information relating to the investigation of a serious crime or the protection of public safety.

There are no other circumstances where information will be released.

We do not insist on knowing your identity and if you feel that you can discuss your problems more freely by not revealing your real identity that is fine with us. 

However we do have an obligation to protect your welfare and the welfare of others that may be affected by you and in some circumstances we may need to know your identity to be able to help you.
